BUDAPEST - HUNGARY
TEFL / TESOL
TEFL / TESOL Budapest - Hungary is a 4 week international (Teaching English
as a Foreign Language) TEFL / (Teachers of English to Speakers of Other
Languages) TESOL training course program in Hungary that is certified for
130 hours with a teaching English job at the end of the TEFL / TESOL course.
Hungary is located in Budapest, a city of about two million inhabitants.
The largest city of Hungary, it serves as the country's principal political,
cultural, commercial, industrial, and transportation center. Budapest is
considered an important hub in Central Europe, and is widely regarded as
one of the most beautiful cities in Europe.
The TEFL / TESOL Crete - Greece course training centre is perfectly located
in the historical centre of Óbuda, an ancient part of Budapest which now
forms part of District III. The island (Óbuda Island) next to this part
of the city today hosts the Sziget Festival, a huge music and cultural festival.
Its center is Fo tér (Main Square), connected to a small square with a sculpture
of people waiting for the rain to stop. It is accessible by HÉV (Árpád híd
station).
Hungary Overview
Budapest is quite rightly
known throughout the world for its beauty and culture. Peaceful and yet
bustling, a large metropolis of over 10 million inhabitants and yet friendly,
it treasures the old and embraces the new. Here the historic blends with
the modern, the hills harmonize with the river, that is, the Danube, which
flows through the city along a stretch of over 15 miles. That is the sort
of magnetic quality that Budapest radiates.
However, there is much more to the city. It's not only a historic treasure
of Central Europe, but also a metropolis. The wine and cuisine are justifiably
world-famous, filling and inexpensive, and there is a huge variety of cultural
and non-cultural entertainment, all of which is available to those on a
limited budget. Traveling within the republic is inexpensive and easily
managed and there are a number of interesting places to visit outside the
capital. Also, the largely unspoiled countryside provides various outdoor
activities (swimming, horse-back riding, cycling, hiking, etc.) throughout
the seasons. Hungarians are very friendly and hospitable people.
Hungary has a temperate continental climate with Mediterranean and Atlantic
influences. Depending on the location, winters can be cold, cloudy and damp
or windy, the summers warm and sometimes very hot. May, June and November
are the rainiest months. The number of hours of sunshine per year is among
the highest in Europe.
From
April to the end of September, you can expect the sun to shine for about
10 hours a day.

Teaching Jobs Overview - Hungary
The demand for English teachers is strong year-round in Hungary, and most
participants have secured teaching positions before the end of the four-week
program. Salaries are typically equivalent to US$500-700 per month, which
is sufficient to live on comfortably. Most teachers work for private language
schools (sometimes part-time at two schools), and some give private lessons
to supplement their income. Positions at a university or college, a high
school,
or
even an elementary school are also possible, although those may require
a one-year contract.

Accommodation & Communications in Hungary
During training, accommodations in a home stay or shared apartment are available.
While it should be stated that the standards of accommodation are considerably
more basic than those found in Western Europe and Northern America, apartments
are always clean and spacious and conveniently located near the metro. Alternatively,
you can live with a Hungarian family (single room with breakfast) for the
same price.
Budapest home-stay families are typically middle-class, and may or may not
have children living at home. All host families live in attractive homes
in safe neighborhoods. In your host family's home, you will have your own
bedroom and either a shared or private bathroom. You will be given a key
to the house or apartment and are free to come and go as you please (though,
as a guest living with a host family, you should be sure to respect the
routine of the people you are staying with). Host families provide breakfast
and the evening meal, and enjoy spending time during meals chatting with
students - typically, home stays provide an excellent way to get to know
the local culture and language.
After training, you will most likely rent a room in an apartment or house
with other teachers or locals. Some employers will provide accommodations
as part of your contract, usually in an apartment with other teachers.
Internet access is available to all trainees, and internet cafes are available
throughout the city.
